WELCOME TO BROKER PRE-LICENSE

Illinois law requires the students complete 75 hours of education to qualify for the Broker License. This is an entry level real estate license that allows the licensee to perform real estate related functions on behalf of the consumer, under the guidance of a sponsoring/managing broker. After the educational component is completed successfully, the licensee must successfully pass the state examination with a minimum score of 75% in order to receive their broker license.

What does the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) require for you to apply to get your real estate broker course & license?

  • Complete the 75-hour course from a licensed real estate School. The program consists of a 60-hour component focused on the theory of real estate law and a 15-hour component designed to assist in your understanding of the law. In addition, there are 12 online quizzes that must be completed with a minimum score of 75%.
  • Upon completion of all the program requirements, we will submit your completion to PSI, the testing agency engaged by Illinois using the personal registration number issued to you by PSI. In accordance with state regulation, your completion will be reported within 72 hours following the completion of the program instruction (either live interactive or home study) plus all online exams, with a minimum score of 75%.
  • Within approximately 72 hours after we complete the reporting, we will provide you with a certificate of completion you need to upload to the state registration portal once you pass the state exam.
  • Upon successfully passing the state exam, PSI will provide you a printable notice of successfully passing the exam. DO NOT MISPLACE THIS FORM as you will need to upload it to the state registration portal when you activate your license. This form has personal information you want to protect. The state will not issue a license to you until you have established a relationship with a sponsoring broker that will verify you will be joining their firm.
  • Occasionally Inland Real Estate School will run a tuition promotion. Notice of such promotions can be found here on our website, by calling the school office or on Group On.
  • Live classes meet Monday through Friday; Morning hours are 9 AM until 1245 PM while Evening hours are 6 PM till 945 PM.
